Now that you have learned how to translate your military experience into ‘civilian’ language on paper it is time to learn how to communicate that experience in an interview. Led by Career Services team members from the Nation’s Top MBA Programs, they will coach you through a formal presentation followed by ‘small-group’ practice sessions where you can learn from your peers.

Network with other transitioning officers, build relationships with veteran students and alumni of the top-ranked MBA programs, and meet corporate recruiters at an open-bar reception on Chicago’s stunning downtown waterfront.

Discover the benefits of transitioning from the military to a civilian career via graduate school with a panel of recruiters, grad school admissions teams, and veterans currently enrolled in graduate school. Topics will include scholarships and financial aid, career resources, admissions strategies, and how to leverage your military experience during the application process.

This panel of corporate recruiters , MBA career services team members, and veterans working at some of the nation’s top companies will give you a broad understanding of the different type of industries and functional areas where veterans tend to find career success. We’ll also talk about ‘Pre-MBA’ career exploration that many companies now offer!

Network with representatives of 12-15 top-ranked MBA programs and companies in 9 minute increments over the course of 2.5 hours. You’ll get a chance to learn about each one, meet their teams learn about them in detail, and get a sense of their cultures. Make sure to stop by their booths at the expo to learn more! An amazing way to quickly evaluate a bunch of great firms and schools.

Network with military veteran students, alumni, and admissions officers representing many of the nation’s top-ranked MBA programs to learn more about their programs at a traditional expo. Bring your resume!

While you’re in town and freshly trained from the practice sessions, why not get a head start on the job or Grad school application and interview process with several Grad school admission representatives and/or company representatives. All interviews will be scheduled directly between the schools or companies and candidates.

Several of the participating MBA programs will be hosting private, invite-only dinners and happy hours with attendees at restaurants and/or bars around Chicago. Coordination will occur by MBA Program reps. reaching directly out to candidates.

Many professionals are pursuing two Masters degrees and as long as your first Masters is not an MBA, this event would be beneficial to attend.
We’d recommend that you have an ETS date of September 2019 or earlier. This conference is designed for people who will leave active duty between May 2017 and September 2019, are current or former members of the National Guard/Reserve, or are veterans.
We don’t schedule interviews on behalf of attendees, so the best way to do this is to attend the full programming (particularly on Friday) and express interest with the organizations in person. With that being said, all of the sponsor organizations will have access to your contact info prior to the event and they may reach out to you directly.
Yes, you can definitely register and are encouraged to attend. The Summit could be an excellent opportunity to build your network, explore grad schools, and meet recruiters who specifically work with veteran talent etc.
