Why do you require at least 1 year of private sector work experience?

Because the companies that are attending this event are specifically seeking candidates with proven, business expertise. Their goal is to meet veterans who they can put in front of a business unit hiring manager, no questions asked, the following Monday. Unfortunately, if you don’t have any commercial work experience – even if you have an MBA – they can’t do that very effectively.

I already have a job. Why should I attend?

Maybe you don’t need a new job today, but you never know when you will need one. That day may come in 2 months or 2 years, but you need to be prepared when it does. By coming to the you’ll make personal connections with recruiters from dozens of companies and potentially hundreds of other MBA Veteran alumni with broad business backgrounds like yours. If you’re anything like us, your professional networks outside of your immediate employer have atrophied since b-school due to career and family commitments so this is a great way to build that back up in a single day.

What functional areas are the sponsors seeking candidates for?

It’s open to people with any level of expertise, but the conference will be particularly good for alumni with functional expertise in finance, banking, consulting, operations, marketing, analytics, supply chain, logistics, and similar fields.

I see that the conference is in Philly. Does that mean that companies are only hiring for roles regionally?

No, this is a National event . We’re hosting it in Philadelphia because that city is in the middle of the highest concentration of MBA Veteran alumni in the US. So, even if you live in California, you could absolutely benefit from attending. The recruiting companies are looking to meet candidates who they can place into roles at their offices across the US.

Do I need a resume to register?

No, you don’t need one to sign up, but you’ll want to create one as soon as possible because that’s what the sponsors will use to give you visibility with business unit hiring managers, now and in the future.

How many years of experience are the recruiting companies seeking?

As long as you have at least 1 years of private sector work experienced – you’ll be in good shape. They’re all just excited to meet veterans who actually have commercial experience and that’s true whether you have 2 years or 20 years. If you’re in an early career role, you’ll be valued just as candidates with 20 years of experience will be.

Why are you hosting this Conference on a Saturday?

So that you can attend it without having to use any vacation days

Are the companies hiring for specific roles?

Some of the sponsors will post jobs that they are looking to fill in the short term, but because this event will only be hosted once in the next 12 months, they’ll also be using it as an opportunity to develop a network for roles that come up over that same period.

Can you block me from being viewable by my employer, if it is a sponsor of this event?

Yes, you have the option of choosing not to be viewable by one company in the conference networking platform.
